CYPRESS

Australian Cypress, is a highly valued softwood timber species native to Australia. This timber is harvested from natural regrowth forests, making it a sustainable and eco-friendly choice. Cypress is renowned for its durability, versatility, and distinctive aesthetic appeal, characterized by a light yellowish-brown to golden-brown heartwood, often with dark brown streaks, and a creamy-white sapwood. Its straight grain, fine texture, and tight knots create a striking, decorative figure that enhances both rustic and contemporary designs. The natural oils and resins in cypress, including a compound called cypressene, provide exceptional resistance to rot, decay, and insect attacks, particularly from termites, making it a preferred material for a wide range of construction and decorative applications.
